As you know from my previous post, I recently started reading and following the diet in Joel Marion’s new book Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight. My goals for following this diet are to lose weight, have more energy, and just feel better overall. Though it’s still too early to say for sure, I’m optimistic about Joel’s innovative diet. Compared to some diets, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan seems fulfilling and incredibly easy to follow.

The Truth About Breakfast

One of the biggest changes I’ve made so far is changing my breakfast eating habits by having a smaller breakfast. This hasn’t been easy because I’m always hungry in the morning and I LOVE breakfast foods, but Joel’s book has me reconsidering just how important breakfast actually is. Through his research, Joel has discovered that breakfast may not be as important as we originally thought.

“Those who ate breakfast ended up eating about 260 calories more a day, the review found. Those who skipped breakfast were about one pound lighter than those who ate breakfast. These findings led the researchers to conclude that eating breakfast isn’t necessarily a good strategy for losing weight. The science isn’t really there. Breakfast could very well be the least important meal of the day.”

Changing Meal Habits

While I haven’t yet accomplished full-on fasting in the morning, I’ve still noticed a small change in both my weight and appetite by eating a small breakfast such as a Greek yogurt. I also plan to implement one of Joel’s recommended drinks into my morning routine soon.

As Joel states in his book, the most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. However, by following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you acquire strong willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting which increases testosterone and your metabolism and puts you into ketosis.

Author Interview

I’m hopeful that this will be a diet that I’ll be able to stick to because I’m not depriving myself. But, you don’t have to just take my word for it. Here’s a short interview with the author himself and what he has to say about Always Eat After 7 PM.

Always Eat After 7PM

Q1: What inspired you to write the book?

Joel Marion: After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.

Q2: You’re a six-time best selling author, what is different about this book compared to your others?

Joel Marion: Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods. You don’t have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don’t have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.

Q3: How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?

Joel Marion: It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7PM works because it caters to our bodies’ natural instincts.

So, there you have it. If you’re looking to switch up your lifestyle and eating habits, the Always Eat After 7 PM diet is definitely worth a try.
