When you heading out on a trip, you want to make sure that your suitcase has everything you need for your travel adventures. There’s nothing more frustrating than being in the midst of your trip and realizing you’re missing something essential. Though some items like a toothbrush are easily replaceable, there are other items that forgetting would cause quite the inconvenience. Packing can be stressful, but it doesn’t need to be.  Here are some tips to make sure you have everything you need for your next trip.

1. Write It All Down

It’s helpful to write a list of everything that you need and want to take with you. Make sure this list includes every little thing that needs to go in your bag or suitcase. No matter how big or small, whether it’s clothing, or electronics, making a list will help you keep things in order.

2. Buy What You Don’t Have

On your list, there might be a few things that you need for your trip that you don’t have. This is okay, you just need to do some research and remember to buy them. Depending on where you’re traveling to, you may need climate specific items such as warmer or cooler clothing. For example, if you need to get some thermals, then you may want to look at womens gloves from HeatHolders, or thermal underwear from somewhere similar. Of course, it’s going to depend on where you are going and what you are doing, so it’s important to do your research and prepare accordingly.

3. Don’t Forget Your Documents

If you’re traveling out of the country, your travel documents are vital, and they need to be in your bag ready to show officials when they are asked for. This needs to include your passport, any visas that you may have, or any other travel documentation that you may need. I recommend putting all of this into one folder so that it’s easy to locate and access in your bag rather than having to dig around and potentially unpack parts of your bag to find what you are looking for.

It’s essential that you do not forget your documents as you can be refused entry to different countries without them. Double check they are in there, even putting them right at the top for easy access.

4.Tick Items Off As You Pack Them

The final piece of advice is to tick off items as you pack them. If your original list is a bit of a mess now, rewrite it all out. As you pack things into your bag or suitcase, tick them off on your list so that you know they have been packed up and are ready to go. For that extra peace of mind, ensure that you are not ticking off anything until it’s in your suitcase.

Packing is only as stressful as you allow it to be. But with enough time and preparation, packing can actually be kind of fun. Always remember that a packed suitcase is a sign that adventure and lasting memories are on their way!
